摘要: AbstractContext: Ultraviolet radiation (UV) was reported to cause oxidative stress. Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (Malvaceae) calyx is commonly used in traditional Asian and African medicines possesses strong antioxidant capacity due its anthocyanin (ANTH) content. Objective: This study researched the possible protective role of extract (HSCE) UVC exposure rats.Material methods: Levels serum enzymes, renal function tests, some oxidant/antioxidant biomarkers skin, lens, retina tissues were monitored. Rats exposed 4 h daily for 40 d simultaneously received HSCE containing 2.5, 5, 10 mg doses ANTH drinking water. Results: Significant (p < 0.05) increases levels aminotransferases, lactate dehydrogenase, urea, creatinine, uric acid noted after exposure. In tissues, total oxidant status, stress index, lipid peroxidation, protein oxidation escalated markedly where...
