摘要: Taurine has been assumed to function as an osmoregulator and neuromodulator in the brain. The pertinent studies are now reviewed attempt formulate a unifying hypothesis how taurine could simultaneously act both roles. Neuromodulatory actions of may also underlie its protective effects against neuronal overexcitation glutamate agonist-induced neurotoxicity.
