摘要: This paper documents and discusses the development of a compact tension (CT) test for grading asphalt binders. The geometry was chosen because it provides an easy way to obtain plane-strain fracture toughness (KIc), energy (Gf), crack tip opening displacement (δt) in brittle failure on small sample. It is believed that method will allow better ranking binders regard their lowtemperature resistance. CT specimens were prepared different sizes with varying notch depths.
