摘要: Abstract To increase the life of mechanical parts submitted to severe oxidizing and abrasive environments, specific coatings are frequently used. Since two decades, with rapid development lasers, power lasers have been used produce high quality coatings. Metal matrix composite (MMC) composed nickel tungsten carbides (Ni-WC) solve problems reduced under conditions. Comparative tests between laser cladding conventional hardfacing performed following ASTM G-65 standard test method noticeable increased (up six times) has obtained for cladding. This better resistance abrasion results from low dilution solidification rate As a consequence, MMC reinforced WC particles, exhibits higher volume content finer microstructure. For applications where oxidation resistances needed, special metal such as nickel–chromium alloy + WC particles developed. Nickel chrome matrixes various claddings produced on steel. The effects process parameters discussed microstructure observations presented.
