摘要: Dayside near-polar auroral brightenings occur when interplanetary shocks impinge upon the Earth's magnetosphere. The aurora first brightens near local noon and then propagates toward dawn dusk along oval. propagation speed of this wave light is ∼10 km s-1 in ionosphere. This comparable to solar wind outer fundamental shock-magnetospheric interaction occurs at magnetopause its boundary layer. Several physical mechanisms transferring energy from directly magnetosphere ionosphere are reviewed. same processes can other system magnetospheres. We use Haerendel (1994) formulation estimate acceleration energetic electrons 50 keV Jovian magnetosphere/ionosphere. Auroral by could be used as technique discover planets stellar systems.
