摘要: Purpose of the study. To assess efficacy and safety fluconazole in neonates with Candida fungemia. Study design. Multicenter prospective protocol all fungemias appearing between January 1, 1993, December 31, 1997, four major university hospitals. Results. Forty neonates, 28 them very low birth weight (<1500 g; 30.5 median gestation week), documented albicans fungemia were treated intravenous a daily dosage 6 mg/kg once for to 48 days. Thirty-four received as monotherapy it combination amphotericin B. Thirty-two (80%) cured; 4 relapsed despite at least 14 days therapy, but they ultimately cured without sequelae. Eight other died, because fungal infection prematurity or hemorrhage lung failure, (20% overall 10% attributable mortality). Two had elevated liver enzymes during therapy 2 others serum creatinine monotherapy. In none did these abnormalities necessitate discontinuation antifungal therapy. 8 meningitis developed complication All 3 C. albicans; parapsilosis. Conclusions.
