摘要: Termites are primarily wood-feeding insects, consisting of approximately 2,650 species worldwide. Some the subterranean termite major pests that destroy agricultural crops, live trees, and wooden structures in houses. Thus, termites cause significant economic losses tropical subtropical areas, occurrence cultivable lands is becoming a threat to crop plants Termite control crops usually done by adopting suitable cultural practices or preventing infestations through application physical chemical insecticidal barriers. However, due long persistence residual insecticides soil their possible entry food chain, recently there more emphasis on characterization biocontrol agents for safer environment friendly. Different pathogens including bacteria, fungi, protozoa, viruses, nematodes have been found kill under laboratory as well field conditions. These could be applied bio-termiticides. The various microorganisms, however, differed substantially pathogenicity termites. metabolites responsible killing either production toxins, siderophores, proteases, hydrocyanic acid suppression immune system.
