摘要: Introduction The aim of this study was to assess the reliability and validity a modified Malaysian version Medication Adherence Reasons Scale (MAR-Scale). Methods In cross-sectional study, 15-item MAR-Scale administered 665 patients with hypertension who attended one four government primary healthcare clinics in Hulu Langat Klang districts Selangor, Malaysia, between early December 2012 end-March 2013. construct examined two phases. Phase I consisted translation from English Malay, content check by an expert panel, face via small preliminary test among hypertension, exploratory factor analysis (EFA). II involved internal consistency calculations confirmatory (CFA). Results EFA verified five existing factors that were previously identified (i.e. issues medication management, multiple medications, belief medication, availability, patient's forgetfulness convenience), while CFA extracted (medication availability not extracted). final model, which had 11 items four-factor structure, provided good evidence convergent discriminant validities. Cronbach's alpha coefficient > 0.7, indicating construct. results suggest has consistencies validity. Conclusion validated (Malaysian version) found be suitable for use receiving treatment settings. However, comprehensive measurement other can also lead non-adherence requires further exploration.
