摘要: Viscometry and gel chromatography of mixtures proteoglycans with other linear flexible polymers suggest that shrink as the concentration polymer is increased. Similar behavior was observed for binary proteoglycan solutions using a differential viscometry procedure. The shrinkage does not involve specific chemical properties polymer, but rather consequence purely entropic excluded volume interactions proteoglycans. Comparison hydrodynamic model supports this conclusion. polydisperse preparation subfractionated, individual fractions were tested shrinkage. Fractions lower molecular weight found to greater extent, suggesting molecules are more when they contain fewer glycosaminoglycan chains.
