摘要: Oncology is entering a new era in which patients are being categorized not only by the tissue of origin their cancer, but also molecular characteristics tumor. Historically, melanomas have been classifi ed as cutaneous (including superfi cial spreading, nodular, lentigo maligna, and acral lentiginous subtypes), mucosal, or uveal. Recent analyses demonstrated that majority harbor one more genetic alterations components key signaling networks. This information now integrated with traditional clinicopathological criteria to develop refi ned system has both diagnostic therapeutic implications.
