摘要: The AASHTO Guide for the Design of Pavement Structures is primary document used by state highway agencies to design new and rehabilitated pavements. Currently Kansas Department Transportation (KDOT) uses 1993 edition pavement guide, based on empirical performance equations, Jointed Plain Concrete Pavements (JPCP). However, newly released Mechanistic-Empirical (MEPDG) provides methodologies mechanistic-empirical while accounting local materials, environmental conditions, actual traffic load distribution means axle spectra. major objective this study was predict distresses from MEPDG analysis selected in-service JPCP projects in Kansas. Five roadway sections designed KDOT three long term (LTPP) were analyzed. Project specific construction, climatic, data also generated study. Typical examples spectra calculations existing Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) provided. Vehicle class hourly truck distributions derived Automatic Classification (AVC) provided KDOT. predicted output variables, IRI, percent slabs cracked, faulting values, compared with those obtained during an annual management system (PMS) condition survey done A sensitivity performed determine variables due variations key input parameters process. Finally, interaction significant factors through statistical identified find effect current specifications rigid construction. results showed that IRI most sensitive output. For study, similar measured values. minimal or no confirmed visual observation. Only a few some cracking. It observed outputs very traffic, material, construction such as average daily percentages, dowel diameter, tied concrete shoulder, widened lane, slab thickness, coefficient thermal expansion, compressive strength, base type, etc.
