摘要: The Bax gene is a member of the Bcl-2 family and its pro-apoptotic Bcl-associated X (Bax) protein believed to be crucial in regulating apoptosis during neuronal development as well following injury. With advent mouse genomics, mice lacking (Bax KO) have been extensively used study how cell death helps determine synaptic circuitry formation neurodevelopment disease. Surprisingly, spite wide use association programmed with motor dysfunctions depression, effects deletion on spontaneous locomotor activity depression-like traits are unknown. Here we examine behavioral characteristics KO male using classical paradigms evaluate depressive-like responses. In open field, animals exhibited greater than their control littermates. forced swimming test, displayed immobility times, behavior despair state, when compared controls. Collectively, our findings corroborate notion that fine balance between survival early critical for normal brain function later life. Furthermore, it points out importance considering hyperactivity phenotypes conducting neurodevelopmental other studies strain.
