摘要: BACKGROUND. Although genetic abnormalities on 3p have been suggested to be linked the development of squamous cell carcinoma head and neck, authors' knowledge no study date has examined such in patients with tongue. In current study, loss heterozygosity (LOH) was evaluated at several loci within 3p, including von Hippel-Lindau gene (VHL), samples tongue carcinoma. addition, coding region intact VHL allele screened for sequence mutations. METHODS. DNA extracted from tumor nontumor tissues collected 28 LOH investigated by analysis single nucleotide polymorphisms exon 3 microsatellite another 10 loci. Mutation performed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification sequencing gene. RESULTS. LOH found a high frequency (45.5%) tumor. However, mutations were not detected all samples. other markers observed 27.3% 50% Eleven (58%) 19 that informative more than 2 exhibited least 1 locus; these 11 cases multiple loci. CONCLUSIONS. A wide range deletions gene, may play role cancer. Cancer 2008. © 2007 American Society.
