摘要: Aim: To design and evaluate a clinical decision support system (CDSS) to cardiovascular risk prevention in type 2 diabetes. Methods: A preliminary requirements specification three prototype CDSS interface designs were developed. Seven patients seven clinicians conducted ‘usability tests’ on five different task scenarios with the prototypes test its effectiveness, efficiency ‘user-friendliness’. Structured, qualitative questions explored their preferences for overall impressions of usefulness. Results: Patients enthusiastic about used it confidently after short learning period. Some had difficulty interpreting data, but most keen see help them understand diabetes, provided clinician explained results. Clinicians’ main concern was that would increase consultation times. Changes suggested by users incorporated into final design. Conclusion: We have successfully patients’ clinicians’ views CDSS, an arduous process. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd.
