摘要: Synthetic N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanyl-D-isoglutamine (muramyl dipeptide or MDP) represents the smallest unit that can substitute for whole Mycobacteria in Freund's complete adjuvant. In this paper fate of 14C-labelled (on muramyl moiety) MDP is reported. Following intravenous subcutaneous injection into mice, more than 50% 14C-MDP was recovered urine after 30 min and 90% 2 h. The labelled compound found unchanged urine, as shown by detailed analyses. However, sequestered a longer time at site when administered water-in-oil emulsion. Considering relatively rapid elimination observed, it suggested biological effects related compounds, an aqueous medium, may be due to their activity minute concentrations and/or immediate action cellular level.
