X-ray Thomson scattering measurement of temperature in warm dense carbon

摘要: A novel platform to measure the equation of state using a combination diagnostics, where spectrally resolved x-ray Thomson scattering (XRTS) is used obtain accurate temperature measurements warm dense matter (WDM) was developed for OMEGA laser facility. beams have been drive strong shocks in carbon targets creating WDM and generating Ni He-alpha probe XRTS. Additional diagnostics including radiography, velocity interferometry streaked optical pyrometry provided complementary density pressure. The regime near solid moderate temperatures (1–100 eV) challenging yet important area research inertial confinement fusion astrophysics. This has study off-Hugoniot states shock-released diamond graphite at pressures between 1 10 Mbar 5 15 eV as well first data from shocked low CH foams reaching five times compression 20–30 eV.
