摘要: AIM: CT-guided stereotactic methods have long been used for the diagnosis and treatment of intracranial masses. Intracranial tuberculoma is a rare form extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Histological confirmation gold standard correct diagnosis. However, histopathological excision these lesions advantages over open surgical methods. This study presents our experience on use biopsy in management tuberculomas. MATERIAL METHODS: Thirteen patients with masses underwent procedures tissue samples to establish In 6 suitable patients, microsurgical was performed both diagnostic therapeutic purposes, whereas only conducted remaining subjects. RESULTS: The established 12 out 13 cases (92%). Seizure control achieved all admitted history seizures. There no procedure-related mortality, none suffered permanent disability most were uneventful. Total resection without any residual mass done. All responded antituberculous complete lesion disappearance. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that surgery tuberculomas has other methods, potential become first-line modality, particularly as tool, lesions.
