摘要: Accumulated evidence indicates that PtdIns5P, one of the seven phosphoinositides, found now to be constitutively present in yeast, plants and metazoa, serves as a signaling molecule modulate pleiotropic cellular functions both nucleus cytoplasm. The enzymatic routes biogenesis basal PtdIns5P have remained incompletely understood. role for candidate kinase PIKfyve is principally involved PtdIns(3,5)P2 production, has been questioned. In this review article we scrutinize past obstacles prevented definitive implication biosynthesis from PtdIns focus on recent pharmacological genetic advancements make conclusion well supported. We further summarize our current knowledge diverse stimuli modulating levels, binding partners regulated process, with particular reference available mechanistic insights relevant pathways.
