Estimating forest product values in Central Himalaya - methodological experiences

摘要: Forests are crucial to the livelihoods of millions poor people in developing countries. Yet quantitative approaches estimate economic value forest products and other environmental resources at householdlevel across different sites have only recently been developed experiences on using such methods presently emerging. This paper presents methodological from a structured household survey approach dependency two high altitude areas Central Nepal. Area village level background contextual information was collected qualitative techniques; this followed by (n = 180) conducted over full year December 2005 2006. Households were randomly selected inter alia subjected quarterly income surveys. The emphasis is investigating whether own-reported data valid reliable. It concluded that it reasonable use households ownreported values as these estimates produced aggregated unit with acceptable properties.
