摘要: This invention is an apparatus, and method for guiding a surgical instrument within, around the human body. During surgery on body it often necessary to approach specific anatomical location precisely directly in order minimize unwanted trauma, place soft tissue incision or bone drill hole accurate location. The employs light emitter (16), array of sensors (21-24), display (12) accurately locate feature into which (16) has been placed. emitted from detected after passing through thickness bone, and/or by sensor (21-24). signal (21-24) processed, information indicating relative direction displayed. surgeon then can proceed indicated.
