摘要: Publisher Summary Despite much research on the role of plant foods and their key components, such as whole grains Dietary Fiber (DF), in preventing or treating a number disorders, there is still controversy regarding connection dietary fiber with health disease prevention. Epidemiological studies showing many positive relationships between DF are also subject to confounding factors. The subsequent intervention that were undertaken give greater clarity resulted confusion. This lack leaves questions promotion Some these are: (1) what physiological benefit is, (2) whether purified have less than when it natural food matrix delivers combination nutrients phytochemicals, grain food, (3) source fiber, from grain, offer something unique different offered by fruits vegetables, various fibers differing effects whether, lump together single entity, adds confusion results studies, (5) inclusion diet merely marker for constellation other healthful behaviors. chapter attempts answer some questions, reviewing recent evidence about weight control, cardiovascular disease, gut health.
