摘要: Cyclosporin A (CsA) is the prototype of immunosuppressant drugs that have revolutionized management all transplantation and autoimmune diseases. Side effects CsA mainly affecting kidney but also observed in liver heart, limit therapeutic use this drug after organ transplantation. The renal toxicity attributed to reduced blood flow which leads hypoxia-reoxygenation injury accompanied by excessive generation oxygen-derived free radicals. In several protocols, used association with corticosteroids obtain better results. Recently, our studies showed hydrocortisone (HY) has a protective effect on CsA-induced cardiotoxicity. fact previous results demonstrated rat cardiomyocytes, due calcium overload, turn induce lipid peroxidation determines oxidative stress-induced cell injury. Treatment HY effectively inhibits toxicity, decreasing as well intracellular concentration. study we evaluated vivo CsA, alone or HY, some parameters dysfunction (blood urea nitrogen; BUN, creatinine, cholesterol), malondialdheyde (MDA) levels, antioxidant enzyme catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), apoptosis. administration for 24 days resulted marked stress, significantly deranged functions. improved status. This clearly suggests role stress pathogenesis nephrotoxicity. J. Cell. Biochem. 113: 997–1004, 2012. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
