摘要: RNA interference (RNAi) is a recently discovered, powerful molecular mechanism that can be harnessed to engineer gene-specific silencing in mammalian tissues. A mechanism, where short double-stranded (dsRNA) molecules, when introduced into cells elicit specific "knock-down" of gene expression via degradation targeted messenger RNA, has lately become the technique choice for analysis function oncology research. Thus, RNAi currently being extensively evaluated as potential therapeutic strategy against malignant gliomas, since surgical, radiological, and chemotherapeutic interventions during past few decades have done little improve poor prognosis rate patients with these dreaded tumors. This review summarizes pre-clinical studies are underway test validity discusses technical hurdles remain overcome before promising clinical therapy combat this frequently lethal disease.
