摘要: The effect of porosity––a common welding defect––on the fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in Ti–6Al–4V laser welds was investigated. experimental results reveal that porosity present partial penetration over a narrow fusion zone (FZ) with martensite structure. FCGR FZ lower than base plate. fracture surface morphology weld metal much rougher as compared to Randomly oriented led local cleavage along preferred plane, thus, altering direction significantly out primary plane. zigzag path resulted reduced at given ΔK Besides, porous showed serration on curve, and behaved similar characteristics defect free one. SEM fractography revealed deflection around together notch blunting tip pierced into porosity, balanced increased for occurrence instant advance front reached low stress ratio. In contrast, drop occurred sparingly high ratio met porosity.
