摘要: The DNA oligomer d(CGCGTG) crystallizes as a Z-DNA double helix containing two guanine-thymine base pair mismatches of the wobble type. crystal diffracts to 1 A resolution and structure has been solved refined. At this resolution, large amount information is revealed about organization water molecules in lattice generally more specifically around pairs. By comparing with analogous high d(CGCGCG) we can visualize structural changes well reorganization solvent associated pairing. There only small distortion backbone resulting from introduction GT mismatched cluster taking up all hydrogen bonding capabilities bases due These bridging serve stabilize base-base interaction and, thus, may be important for mispairing either or RNA molecules.
