Substance P Binding in Gastrointestinal Tract of Nondiabetic BB Rat and Changes in Diabetic BB Rat over Time

摘要: Our aim was to determine sites of substance Pbinding in the gut BB rat and examine changes inSP binding diabetic rat, over time. Specificbinding [125I]substance P localized insections nondiabetic using emulsionautoradiography quantitated andnondiabetic film autoradiography. High levelsof SP were located esophageal muscularismucosa, circular muscle stomach colon, deep muscularplexus, adjacent theplexus ileum. The myenteric plexus demonstratedmoderate high levels binding. Specific increased antrum pylorus at threeweeks jejunum distal colon four weeksof diabetes but decreased ileum two tofour weeks diabetes. Changes persisted six months. These results contribute tounderstanding control intestinalmotility
