摘要: The present study assessed the beneficial skeletal muscle‑preserving effects of extracellular polysaccharides from Aureobasidium pullulans SM‑2001 (Polycan) (EAP) on dexamethasone (DEXA)‑induced catabolic muscle atrophy in mice. To investigate whether EAP prevented DEXA‑induced atrophy, and to examine its mechanisms action, (100, 200 400 mg/kg) was administered orally, once a day for 24 days. treatment initiated 2 weeks prior DEXA (1 mg/kg, 10 days) Body weight alterations, serum biochemistry, calf thickness, strength, gastrocnemius thickness weight, antioxidant defense parameters, mRNA expression, histology histomorphometry were subsequently assessed. After days, control mice exhibited according all criteria indices. However, these symptoms significantly inhibited by oral with three doses EAP. Regarding possible favorable ameliorating via anti‑inflammatory effects; mediated modulation expression genes involved protein synthesis (AKT serine/threonine kinase 1, phosphatidylinositol 3‑kinase, adenosine A1 receptor transient potential cation channel subfamily V member 4) degradation (atrogin‑1, RING‑finger protein‑1, myostatin sirtuin 1). Therefore, results indicated that may be helpful improving atrophies various etiologies. at mg/kg protective against comparable oxymetholone (50 mg/kg), which has been used treat disorders.
