摘要: Abstract Recent studies by Cess et al. and Ramanathan find that clouds absorb significantly more shortwave radiation than currently modeled general circulation models. Initial calculations for the global annual energy budget imply including additional cloud absorption leads to an 22 W m−2 in atmosphere, with equivalent reduction of flux at surface. The present study investigates climate implications enhanced use National Center Atmospheric Research Community Climate Model. GCM response this forcing is warm upper troposphere as much 4 K. heating reduces strength Hadley 12% lower surface wind speeds Tropics. In turn, these lead a 25 latent heat flux.
