摘要: Objective: To investigate the relationship between hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome in a population of healthy subjects. Methods: We studied 1,573 adults (25 to 64 years old) laboratory Tehran University Medical Sciences. The study was designed according World Health Organization MONICA (Multinational Monitoring Trends Determinants Cardiovascular Disease) project with use National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III criteria for syndrome. Results: crude prevalence 29.9% (age-adjusted, 27.5%). rate significantly increased higher quartiles serum uric acid both sexes but especially women (P<.0001 versus P = .026). bivariate correlation significant levels age, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein triglycerides, body mass index, waist hip circumferences, waist-to-hip ratio, systolic diastolic blood pressures; however, there not concentrations fasting plasma glucose. Conclusion: These data indicate that an independent exists Moreover, is correlated hypertriglyceridemia, hypertension, visceral obesity. Early detection seems be essential prevention
