摘要: Models concerning populations living in fragmented habitats are of increasing biological interest. As a consequence, there is growing interest metapopulation models and source-sink models. In this paper we introduce elementary discrete-time matrix for subdivided populations. We discuss the stabilizing role played by migration, particular presence strong rates increase population structures (e.g., age). Although emphasis on demography, expect applications evolutionary biology. Another hope to provide basis graduate students, with philosophy model building use rather than mathematical difficulties.
