摘要: Autopoietic systems, chemotons, and autogens are models that aim to explain (the emergence of) life as a functionally closed self-sustaining system. An essential element in these is the notion of boundary containing, maintaining, being generated by an internal reaction network. The more general concept collectively autocatalytic sets, formalized RAF theory, does not explicitly include this boundary. Here, we argue (1) can also be incorporated formal framework, (2) provides mechanism for higher-level (3) satisfies necessary condition evolvability (4) enables framework formally represent analyze (at least part) other models.
