摘要: A study was undertaken to examine the relationship between clinical signs and symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder computed tomographic (CT) evidence destruction these joints in children afflicted with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). thorough examination including determination craniomandibular index (CMI) performed on each 37 consecutive JRA patients (6-17 years old), who had also received comprehensive evaluations TMJ morphology by axial CT (see Part I, Pediatr Dent, 17:46-53, 1995). Measures facial asymmetry (photographic) mandibular size (cephalometric) were collected. Published norms for dimensions prevalences disorders served as control data. Various ANOVA nonparametric statistical models used analysis. Average maximal opening significantly less subjects compared controls, more than 50% manifested chin deviations or vertical disparities angle regions, indicating compromised function form. With exception asymmetry, however, none dysfunction remarkable predictors bony TMJ. Subjects definitive (62%) could not be identified reliably any measures here. These findings indicate that alone is inadequate detecting condylar degeneration JRA.
