摘要: Abstract Objectives The aim of the study was to evaluate condylar and ramal asymmetry mandible in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) using orthopantomographies (OPTs). Methods A total 30 JIA confirmed diagnosis a routine OPT, seeking for orthodontic therapy, free specific symptoms temporomandibular joint involvement, normal matched subjects OPT were comprised study. method Habets et al. used compare condyles rami OPT. significance between-group differences assessed Mann–Whitney test. Results results showed high significant difference range condyle, being patient group highly asymmetrical ( P = 0.47). intra-group comparison between males females 0.04), more asymmetric. Conclusions Knowing that (TMJ) is susceptible inflammatory alterations during growth, even absence symptomatology, cost–benefit favorable imaging tool widespread dental field, latter could be as first screening examination calculate index. use this will help physicians addressing should undergo detailed TMJ early detect abnormalities set up targeted therapy related cranial growth alterations.
