摘要: Velocity map imaging of the infrared multiphoton dissociation vinyl chloride shows formation HCl in rotational levels below J = 10 that are associated with three-center elimination pathway. The total translational energy release is observed to peak at 3–5 kcal/mol, which consistent low reverse barrier predicted for vinylidene coproducts. Direct dynamics trajectory studies from transition state reproduce distributions and show formed only modest excitation, precluding Coriolis-induced mixing among excited vibrational acetylene would lead distribution character into many vibrationally mixed levels. results suggest an efficient route synthesis stable, cold vinylidene.
