摘要: Chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer have both been linked with occupational exposure to organic chemicals. These chemicals are known be metabolized within the liver by cytochrome P-450 family of enzymes, indeed able induce levels these enzymes as evidence their interaction. The purpose this study was therefore see if enzyme systems were altered in chronic cancer. Immunocytochemistry four phase I drug-metabolizing (cytochromes IIIA1, IIE, IA2, NADPH oxido-reductase) one II [glutathione S-transferase (GST) 5-5] performed on pancreas and/or biopsy samples from organ donors compared patients or In donor subjects, types hepatocytes similar those seen acinar cells. material cancer, greater than group, while GST unchanged. Islets Langerhans showed high IA2 clear induction IIIA1 oxidoreductase but not group. Levels 5-5 also induced islets. present findings raise possibility an aetiological relationship between elevated subsequent development disease.
