Real-time NURBS interpolator: application to short linear segments

摘要: This study proposes the use of a real-time non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) interpolator with look-ahead function to handle numerous short linear segments. The segments conforming continuous block (CSB) criterion can be fitted into NURBS curves in real time. A modified maximum feedrate equation based on geometric characteristics fitting and dynamics servo control system has been derived this paper. Taking advantage multi-thread design function, process enough G01 information complete planning before interpolation. In addition, S-shaped jerk-limited acceleration method is adopted for smoother profiles. Two part shapes, which possess more than 1,000 segments, are tested our PC-based system. Both simulation experimental results verify feasibility precision proposed interpolation algorithm.
