Solution-based growth and optical properties of self-assembled monocrystalline ZnO ellipsoids.

摘要: Self-assembled unusual ZnO ellipsoids have been grown by a facile low-temperature (60 °C) solution process on large scale. FESEM and TEM reveal that these an average horizontal axis of 1.5 μm longitudinal 0.6 μm. Experimental results obtained from the early growth stage demonstrate ellipsoidal structures are single crystals formed direct “oriented attachment” two types building blocks, is, nanorods nanoparticles. It is further found existence poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG-10 000) vital to formation complex microparticles. Raman spectrum, room-temperature photoluminescence, UV−vis absorption spectra also discussed. This work presents simple effective route for large-scale fabrication single-crystal with micrometer-scale sizes 3D self-assembled structures.
