摘要: The Faraday effect (FE) of the rare-earth (RE) paramagnetic garnet crystals associated with magnetic-dipole (MD) transitions has been investigated theoretically over a wide temperature range 80 to 300 K. Over this range, “gyromagnetic” Verdet Vgm(m) Eu3Ga5O12 (EuGG) is not linear function magnetic susceptibility χ measured along [111] axis. We find that nontrivial character dependence MD constant presence contribution rotation Van Vleck “mixing” by an external field Eu3+ electronic states. optical absorption and circular dichroism (MCD) ion in EuGG at 85 K for transition 7F0 → 5D1 were show appearance MCD feature observed line near 526.6 nm band may be well-explained between Stark singlet states from 7F1 multiplet manifolds mixed H.
