摘要: ABSTRACT Success rates for conservation translocations of species are low and there is a need increased understanding how this activity best applied. Here, using static distribution models spatially-explicit dynamic simulation model, RangeShifter, we examine the impacts habitat cover in recipient landscapes, allocation individuals into multiple sites trait characteristics on long-term fate hypothetical grassland specialist butterfly, Maniola jurtina, Finland. While persistence populations introduced to climatically suitable locations northwards current range can be by selecting with increasing release sites, local population growth rate shown key parameter determining likely translocation success. We conclude that translocated butterflies, particularly rates, appears uncertain modern-day fragmented networks activities should prioritize management improves rate.
