摘要: Abstract Ascaris hypersensitive dogs were chronically exposed to aerosols of this antigen under conditions designed provide reproducible, pharmacologically manipulatable, pulmonary pathophysiology. As a partial characterization model the activities several glycosyltransferases present in respiratory tissue these animals investigated. In most cases, no significant difference from levels found tissues unchallenged was observed. The observation that few instances UDP-Gal: mucin galactosyltransferase significantly higher challenged suggests may have been operating at near maximal capacity with respect synthesis glycoproteins, and was, perhaps, approaching point initiating an increase its synthetic capacity. Airways ascaris-challenged displayed little histochemical evidence hypersecretion except occasional tracheal glands filled sulfomucin. However, bronchial experimental revealed increased prevalence luminal casts consisted sulfated complex carbohydrate which partially some somewhat dilated acinar ductal lumens. Abundant mast cells around peripheral vessels bronchi, into alveolar septae lungs dogs.
