摘要: In response to concerns expressed by anglers, the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) conducted an extensive review of published studies done throughout Canada on impacts Double-crested Cormorants (DCCOs; Phalacrocorax auritus) sport fish populations in open waters. The literature indicated that species valued commercial anglers make up a very small proportion DCCOs diet have minor effect relative fishing, natural predation, other mortality factors. sent questionnaire State agencies, soliciting their biological information professional opinions role regulating wild populations, affecting angler catch, causing adverse tourism fish-related economies. Agency attitudes towards DCCO population control were also assessed. Based survey responses, it does not appear strategy reducing benefit is biologically warranted at this time.
