摘要: Abstract Microhabitat use by age-0 smallmouth bass Micropterus dolomieu in the North Anna River was quantified from 10 snorkel surveys conducted between May and August 1990 1991. Depth, mean velocity within water column, substrate, cover were 25 larval brood sites, same variables (plus focal-point velocity) at 634 points where dispersed individuals located. Larvae broods occupied a wide variety of microhabitats, but after larvae sites they primarily low-velocity areas with large substrate or cover. During first 4–6 weeks dispersal, juveniles continued to relatively deep, microhabitats. Thereafter, shallower microhabitats greater velocities.
