摘要: Abstract A previous study of the decomposition γ phase in a Cu-16.5 at. % Sn alloy has been supplemented and extended by thin foil electron microscopy diffraction. The transformations were made to occur foils while being viewed microscope appeared be comparable many respects with those observed massive specimens. At temperatures near eutectoid temperature decomposes into α + δ pearlite, nucleating phase. lower precipitation precedes decomposition. precipitates are polyhedrons may coalesce rosettes. depleted matrix then α′ bainitic reaction involving shear diffusion. This is analogous formation upper bainite steels, but occurs here an which two atomic components occupy similar lattice sites. sheared nearly h.c.p. can best described as f.c.c. stacking fault density about 0.5. structure, differs from known martensite phases Cu-Sn system, understood resulting hindrance growing plates encounter surrounding hard particles. Some observations further transformation also described.
