摘要: The dynamic stress‐strain behavior of an electrorheological (ER) fluid was studied using a Rheometric Mechanical Spectrometer with specially fabricated high voltage, parallel plate cell. With this apparatus, properties were determined as function the applied field, strain, volume fraction, and oscillation frequency. experimental technique is rapid represents convenient way obtaining dynamical information ER fluids. used in study consists hydrated lithium salt poly(methylacrylate) dispersed chlorinated paraffin oil. When electric field applied, suspension behaves elastically at low strains undergoes plastic deformation which characterized by field‐dependent yield stress. This like elastic Bingham fluid.
