摘要: Ninety-seven children with lipomyelomeningoceles were operated on at the Hospital for Sick Children between January, 1960, and December, 1982. The most common factor that caused these patients to seek help was cosmetic effect of mass their back. However, 22 had urinary incontinence 15 a deformed or weak leg. Sixty 97 female 37 male. presented treatment 6 days 18 1/2 years age median 7 months. Fifty-six before months 35 perfectly normal time presentation. On other hand, 41 who brought after months, only 12 prior surgery. When appropriately treated an early age, spinal cords untethered dura securely closed dural graft, then they remained unchanged neurologically even improved. when delayed not done left significant neurological sequelae. Lipomyelomeningoceles are serious lesions which without appropriate therapy can result in gross impairment function.
