摘要: Summary We develop the absorbing Markov chain (AMC) for describing in detail network of paths through an industrial system taken by embodied resource from extraction intermediate products and, finally, consumer products. We refer to this as a resource-specific network. This work builds on recent literature ecology that uses AMC quantify number times passes recycling sector before ending up landfill. Our objective is incorporate into analysis input-output (IO) table so explicitly take account interdependence sectors their reliance feature makes it possible track multiple resources simultaneously and consistently represent both mixed units. Hypothetical scenarios about technological changes demand are analyzed with IO model, model solutions generate database. A numerical example provided. identify three most critical enhancements standard will be needed analyzing material cycles: incorporation waste-processing sectors, stock flow relationships, international trade. The idea implement after each modeling step analyses, such tracking extracted one region landfills other regions evaluating ways intensify secondary recovery at key junctures between.
