摘要: Abstract A critical challenge associated with renewable energy is managing its variable and intermittent output. Offshore compressed air storage (OCAES) a carbon-free technology that can used to support generation in marine environments. This paper provides the first economic characterization of OCAES performance when coupled an offshore wind farm by employing mixed integer programming model. The model seeks minimum levelized cost electricity optimizing grid-tied cable capacity component sizes across range specified factors. be increase factor transmission cable, but resultant strongly depends on assumptions. Compared using land-based gas turbine as backup, significantly more expensive, even price carbon exceeds 1000 $/tC.
