Factors affecting in vitro propagation of Momordica balsamina: a medicinal and nutritional climber

摘要: A protocol was developed for multiple shoot induction in a climber with highly medicinal and nutritional values i.e. Momordica balsamina (Cucurbitaceae). Effects of various factors on micropropagation were also studied. Addition BAP at 1.0 mg/l MS medium stimulated proliferation shoots 6–8 coefficients from the axillary buds. Low concentration activated charcoal (0.2 %) promoted elongation reduced callus formation. The combination KN proliferation. NAA proved to be more effective inducing higher number roots per than IBA. plantlets raised vitro acclimatized green house successfully transplanted natural condition 85 % survival. present investigation showed that direct regeneration M. offer good opportunity use technique as complementary tool breeding other applications.
