Effects of MAPE and EB irradiation techniques on the mechanical properties of crosslinked rubber toughened nanocomposites

摘要: Improving the mechanical properties of high density polyethylene (HDPE)/ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) matrix is main target developing HDPE/EPDM filled organophilic montmorillonite (OMMT). Both and OMMT were first prepared via intercalation technique at different loadings. Two types crosslinking techniques applied namely, maleic anhydride (MAPE) electron beam (EB) irradiated systems. The effectiveness MAPE EB irradiation crosslinkings then compared with control analysed based on tests morphological examination. revealed that control, systems had attained optimum 4 vol% content. absorbed dose 100 kGy showed excellent higher degree proved by gel content analysis. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed existence delamination disappearance characteristic peak. was further investigated transmission microscope (TEM).
