摘要: Prophage induction and mutation by alkylaminosulfonates, ethyl aminosulfonate alkyl methanesulfonates were examined comparatively. was carried out with a lysozyme lysis technique on the lysogenic strain Micrococcus lysodeikticus 53-40 (N5). The sulfonic ester derivatives show slight induction. At higher concentrations their toxicity seems to mask phage detection. Only methyl isopropylaminosulfonate exhibit no or negligible toxic effects, these compounds at strong prophage is found. Alkyl sulfonate induce mutations in tester of Salmonella typhimurium TA1535. Methyl methylaminosulfonate N-methyl-N-2-chloroethyl mutagenicity comparable that well-known methanesulfonate methanesulfonate. With aminosulfonate, however, which does not inactivation, significant mutagenic effect observed. DNA alterations found polymerase-deficient E. coli P3478. results are compared discussed.
